Hello!

I’m a former journalist, enjoying getting back to writing after work and life admin got in the way for what feels like (maybe is!) several decades.

Probably the best place to start is to peek inside the Wendy’s World jar of odds and bobs.

I first dipped my toe in here after being inspired by old diary snippets.

It’s fun revisiting what it was like to write for Just Seventeen magazine during the 1980s when we had easy access to celebrities.

I’ve shared the story of how I met the love of my life on a blind date in 1986, pre-internet and mobile phones, when it was all about handwritten letters sent to PO Boxes.

I’ve explored family stories to shine a spotlight on history.

But I’m looking forwards, not just back, and am enjoying seeing where inspiration and connections with other people here on Substack takes me.

Please join me!

“Wonderful writer. That’s all, and that’s enough.” Abigail Thomas (What Comes Next Substack)

“Your posts are always really memorable, nostalgic and fun.” Ann Kennedy Smith (Cambridge Ladies’ Dining Society Substack)
